THE THE - Ensoulment Vinyl
THE THE announces their first new album in a quarter of a century – Ensoulment is out 6th September
With an ever-evolving ensemble, THE THE has always been, and always will be, synonymous with Matt Johnson, its founder and lead vocalist since the band's inception in 1979 in London.
Getting worldwide attention with the critically lauded 1983 synth-noir masterpiece "Soul Mining," THE THE achieved international acclaim with their 1986 album "Infected." This album featured the politically charged hits "Sweet Bird Of Truth" and "Heartland," solidifying the band's reputation for producing unique, prescient, and impassioned songs that resonate with fundamental human truths, always transcending fleeting trends.
After a hiatus spanning over two decades, during which Matt Johnson pursued various projects, he made a triumphant return in 2021 with THE THE's chart-topping live album "The Comeback Special." Now, he graces the music scene with fresh compositions for the first time in 24 years, continuing the band's legacy of creating timeless music.
