The Smashing Pumpkins commemorate 25 years since the original release of their studio album Machina/The Machines of God with a definitive 25th anniversary reissue, newly remixed and remastered in 2025.

Machina/The Machines of God was originally released in 2009 and marked a turning point in their storied career with the return of drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and a dramatic refocus on guitar‑driven rock after the more experimental Adore. Conceived as a concept album and intended as the band’s grand finale, its sweeping ambition and narrative depth have cemented it as a fan favourite. Despite its initial modest commercial performance compared to the Pumpkins’ earlier diamond‑selling records, Machina has grown in esteem over time, making it one of the most sought‑after releases among collectors and longtime fans.
