Recorded in New York in 1967, 'Silk&Soul' was the second album Nina Simone recorded for RCA. And despite the arrangements that didn't always fit her voice best, this album features classics like 'I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free', which was to become an anthem of the Civil Rights movement.
It Be's That Way Sometimes', written by her brother Sam Waymon, and 'The Turning Point' are represented as well as NINA Simone's interpretation of Dusty Springfields' 'The Look Of Love', which originally appeared in the 1966 James Bond 'Casino Royale' and reminds of Mozart in its fugue-like climax.
