Released in September 2001, this dazzling album blends retro-inspired disco, funk, R&B, hip-hop, and pop, capturing the vibrant sound of the early 1980s while showcasing Carey's signature vocals and songwriting. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the album is being reissued on vinyl for the first time since its original release, pressed on 2LP Midnight Purple color vinyl.
