Reissued in 2025, Flight Of The Conchords' debut 2008 LP compiled and studio-ized the very best of the New Zealand comedy duo's musical numbers, which had hitherto only appeared on TV and in concert. Billed as a final foil to "all the inexpert fan-made audio transfers which have bloated hard drives the world over" in the words of Sub Pop, Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clements' parodic folk efforts here are commendable. Trademark acoustic guitars and diverse instrumentation underlie this jocose dose, while the sheerly most relevant of all contemporary foibles and current affairs - the Pet Shop Boys, censorship, Marvin Gaye, sexism, Shabba Ranks, and backhanded compliments - is handled with smooth irreverence.
