FATHER JOHN MISTY - Mahashmashana Vinyl

Josh Tillman - aka Father John Misty (FJM) - has announced his sixth album, Mahashmashana, produced by Tillman and Drew Erickson, along with executive producer Jonathan Wilson. The album features eight songs totalling 50 minutes, including critically acclaimed singles ‘I Guess Time Makes Fools of Us All’, ‘She Cleans Up’ and the epic 7-minute long ‘Screamland’, a ballad of sorts with a chorus that it is as exquisitely beautiful as it is a wall of sound noise inferno, featuring Alan Sparhawk (Low) on guitar and a magnificent string arrangement by Drew Erickson.

‘I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All’ from Mahashmashana was released to great acclaim in August, with great words from Pitchfork (‘26 Contenders for Song of the Summer’), The Observer, NME, The New Cue, The Line Of Best Fit and Espuire (‘25 Best Songs of 2024, So Far’).
