Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy returns with The Weight of the Woods, his third studio album, set for release on 27 March 2026 via Island / Interscope Records. Produced by Gabe Simon, the record signals a confident new chapter and is described as Kennedy’s most self-assured work to date, musicality rooted in his Irish heritage.

Written in part between Ireland and Nashville, the album draws inspiration from a sense of home and the natural world. Kennedy has characterized it as a “homegrown” project shaped by Irish instruments and storytelling, reflecting a peaceful forest near his house that fuels his creativity and wonder.
